Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than the start time of your class so that you we can get you ready.

What will I being doing in my first lesson?
In your first FTA lesson you can learn how to execute a 'knee hang catch'. After a demonstration on the ground with a practice bar, you'll be secured into a safety belt, up the ladder you climb, and harness lines attached! Once on the pedestal a professionally trained FTA instructor will prepare you to 'fly', off you jump and away you go towards mastering the 'knee hang' by hooking your knees up across the bar, releasing your hands underneath you and stretching out to the 'catcher's' bar, then back to a straight position you'll safely let go and fall down into the safety net.
Practice makes perfect so you will try this again, this time adding a back flip dismount down to the net! Now comes the most exciting part of your experience! IF you have been able to successfully 'assume the position' within the correct timing, a 'catcher' will climb into the 'catch trap' and as you perform your 'knee hang' this time when you reach out, you'll be 'caught' mid air and swing on through with the second trapeze.

Can anyone do trapeze?
Flying Trapeze Adventures is available to almost all ages and fitness levels. Age 6+ (younger kids/siblings are welcome to take part in 'net play' after classes). No previous experience is needed, only the strength to let go.

How old do I have to be to do Trapeze?
FTA advertises a minimum age of 6yrs, but depending on height it is common to teach as young as 4yrs old.

Is Flying Trapeze safe?
Safety is very important to us. Our standard of equipment reaches far beyond all safety requirements within Thailand and has been imported from the United States to ensure weight regulated American safety standard products. All flyers are 'spotted' by an instructor on the ground with safety lines. Your safety lines are fixed to a comfortable and padded safety belt that secures around your waist. Our soft, flexible net will assure a safe landing.
As with any sporting activity there is a potential for injury. Typically a minor scratch or bruise from physical interaction with the equipment. If you have any pre-existing medical condition or past injury, please notify us so that we can make an informed decision as to your suitability to 'fly'. If you have any back, shoulder, or neck injury that you think may prevent you from trying the flying trapeze, better to air on the side of caution instead of taking the risk. Relax by the pool and enjoy watching a class instead.

How high is the trapeze?
The full height of the trapeze is 32ft high (10 metres). The pedestall from where you will be jumping is approximately 26ft high
(8 metres). If you have a fear of heights, flying trapeze is a safe and controlled way to challenge yourself and try to overcome this.

How long is a flying trapeze lesson?
Our typical lessons run for 1 hour per session. As our class sizes are small, we don't recommend training more than 1 hour per day to allow enough time for your body to rest and your muscles to recover ready for your next class the following day.

How many students are there in each lesson?
There will be a maximum 6 students per session unless otherwise requested..

How many trapeze lessons are there in a day and what time do they start?
There are 8 lessons a day, running every hour from 1pm till 9 pm.

What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes that are not too baggy are recommended. A T-shirt or tank top with pants/trousers or leggings that protect the backs of your knees are recommended, though not essential - shorts will do fine. Long hair should be tied back and jewellery removed when possible. Please avoid applying sun cream or insect repellant to your forearms and backs of the legs immediately prior to your class.

Can I book in advance for my trapeze lesson?
Please do. Our most popular class times are 4,5,6 & 7pm, please book in advance to secure your desired lesson time.

Do I have to sign a waiver and why?
Yes, to participate in any activity with FTA you will need to sign a waiver in advance. With any physical activity there is an element of risk that is unavoidable, the waiver highlights this for your information and provides protection for yourself as the 'flyer' and the trapeze staff as your instructors. Your waiver will be valid for future classes.
